Win a One-Off 1994 Honda CR500

DocWob has teamed up with Only Comps to offer the chance to win a truly one-off machine: a fully rebuilt 1994 Honda CR500 – DocWob Edition.

This is not a restored bike and it is not a cosmetic build. It is a ground-up, workshop-level CR500 built exactly how a factory-style machine should be built, using DocWob parts and processes throughout.

Built Properly, From the Frame Up

The build started with a bare frame. Before any finish work, repairs were carried out and custom lugs were welded in to accept the HRC case guard. Only then was the frame acid-dipped, blasted and powder coated in Arctic White. From that point on, every component was rebuilt or replaced with the same attention to detail.

New DocWob aluminium frame guards, an HRC aluminium case guard, steel skid plate and oversize DRC footrests were fitted as part of the initial chassis setup, setting the tone for the rest of the build.

Fully Rebuilt CR500 Motor

The motor has been completely rebuilt, not freshened up. A 0.5 oversize piston, balanced rod kit, new main bearings, seals, gearbox bearings, clutch pack, water pump, reeds and gaskets were used throughout. The engine was finished in black ceramic Cerakote and rebuilt using Syntol oils.

The carburettor was fully rebuilt and jetted to Pro Circuit spec, with HRC vent pipes, braided fuel line and DocWob vent canister. Wiring was stripped and re-wrapped in white spiral, factory style. Honda Racing cast aluminium clutch and ignition cases were fitted with Boyesen gaskets, along with anodised red head stays.

Exhaust is handled by a DEP works-finish front pipe and GP silencer, mounted using DocWob pipe mounts and factory aluminium brackets.

Suspension, Wheels and Brakes

The forks were stripped and fully serviced, with lower legs vapour blasted and polished, new seals and bushes fitted, and the upper tubes re-anodised in works Kashima dark gold. The rear shock was stripped, polished, ceramic coated in works bronze, rebuilt with new internals and re-gassed using Syntol fluids.

Braking was upgraded properly. A 1996 six-bolt front hub allows fitment of a 280mm DocWob arc replica oversize front disc, with rebuilt calipers, new pads, seals and hardware. The rear brake was fully rebuilt with new pistons, seals, pads and a DocWob billet oversize rear brake carrier.

Both wheels were rebuilt with new rims, spokes, bearings, spacers, heavy-duty tubes, rim locks and Michelin Starcross 6 tyres.

Factory-Style Finish Throughout

An aluminium works tank finished in Arctic White sits alongside Nuclear Red UFO plastics, genuine vapour-blasted radiators with original hoses, white radiator louvres and a full American Honda JMB 22 graphics kit with Nuclear Red seat cover.

Controls and cockpit are finished with Renthal Twinwall 997 bars, billet DocWob HRC oversize bar mounts, Pro Taper levers and grips, rebuilt throttle assembly and new cables throughout.

Every bearing, fastener, spacer and wear item has been replaced or refurbished. Nothing has been left good enough.
