Guy Martin Heads to Farleigh Castle Vets MX

Renowned for his heart-stopping feats at iconic road races like the Isle of Man TT and beloved for his adventurous TV escapades such as 'Speed with Guy Martin' and 'Our Guy in Colombia', Guy Martin thrives on pushing boundaries.

The legendary motorcycle racer, truck mechanic, passionate engineer, part-time farmer, and occasional TV presenter is now gearing up to tackle a new challenge - competing in the Farleigh Castle Vets MX. The UK's original veterans motocross event is set to unfold at the famous Somerset circuit over the weekend of September 13th and 14th, with gates opening early on Thursday, 11th, welcoming riders and camping enthusiasts alike. Farleigh Castle, steeped in motocross history, has famously hosted thrilling events, notably the unforgettable 500 GPs of the 1990s.

For the 2025 race, Guy will pilot a 2002 Yamaha YZ 250 meticulously built and prepared by our very own DocWob team, we're already hands-on building and preparing Guy's bike. His participation will spotlight his ambitious forthcoming bid to capture the motorcycle rear-wheel-driven land speed record.

Fearless as ever and famously dedicated, Guy is already deep into his training at his own Thoresway track. The DocWob team will soon join him there for rigorous testing sessions, ensuring both man and machine are in peak form. Updates on his preparations promise excitement, so stay tuned!

Additionally, Guy Martin will showcase the awe-inspiring "The Spirit of GB," his land speed record contender, at Farleigh Castle. This extraordinary machine, featuring a potent 1200shp Rolls-Royce Gem Lynx helicopter gas turbine engine, aims to surpass Rocky Robinson’s staggering 376.363mph record set by the Ack Attack Streamliner.
The world record attempt is scheduled for 2026 at Bolivia’s stunning Salar de Uyuni salt flats, with preliminary testing under 200mph planned first within the UK.
