MX Legend Dave Thorpe Returns to Farleigh Castle

The countdown is on for the Farleigh Castle Vets MX, just weeks away. This historic Somerset circuit is set to roar with the sound of 60 two-stroke engines battling for supremacy.

For many, Farleigh Castle evokes memories of David "DT" Thorpe's epic rides in the 1980s. Thorpe's name is forever linked to this iconic track near Bath, where he showcased his world-class skills against the most competitive field in memory.

One unforgettable moment was Thorpe's last-to-first charge at the 1985 500 GP. Despite an incredible performance, he was narrowly beaten by his HRC teammate and fellow legend, Andre Malherbe.

This year, Thorpe will attend the Farleigh Castle Vets MX. In a touching tribute to Malherbe, who sadly passed away in 2022, his 1985 factory Honda RC500 will be on display. This piece of motocross history comes courtesy of Spencer Briggs, a passionate collector of works bikes.

Fans can also pick up a copy of Thorpe's autobiography, "No Regrets - Well Almost," offering insights into the mindset of a champion during this golden era of motocross.

The event features nine racing classes over two days, September 14th and 15th. Don't miss this chance to witness an unforgettable weekend of Evo Racing.

Tickets are available for Saturday only, Sunday only, or the full weekend, with camping passes also on offer. Book your spot at farleighcastlevetsmx.co.uk
